About Monisha

I'm Monisha Kiran. I work with families through birth, postpartum, and the early stages of parenthood, and I've spent close to a decade in maternal and newborn health — first in advocacy and policy, now in people's homes.

I care about the bigger picture: how health, relationships, development, education, and social systems shape what families actually experience. That's not an abstract interest. It's what the advocacy work was about, and it's what I keep running into in the houses I work in.

A portfolio career

I work across care and the systems that shape it.

That isn't indecision. It's one question approached from two directions: how do people actually get supported, and where do the gaps show up?

The advocacy work taught me what the research says. The hands-on work taught me what it looks like at 3am. Studying social services is how I'm connecting the two — and the maternal health and midwifery education I'm working toward is the same interest at a scale I can't reach yet.
